HAUL ROAD DESIGN AND COST ESTIMATE FOR KALIA MINE IN GUINEA

We were appointed by WBHO Construction to complete a preliminary design and cost estimate for a 288,6 km haul road from the Kalia mine to Forecariah mine in Guinea.

The road was designed for one-way traffic flow with 500 m passing lanes situated about 8 km apart.

Following the submission of the design, JG Afrika was appointed directly by Bellzone Management Services for a value-add exercise to assess the viability of shortening the haul route. Four route options were developed and presented to the client and a design was then completed for the chosen route.
