DRC ROAD & BRIDGE ASSESSMENT

Nikanor Services appointed JG Afrika to undertake an assessment of the existing road and bridges between Likasi and Kolwezi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to determine the state of the route for transporting copper and cobalt.

An Assessment Report was tabled that proposed various rehabilitation and upgrade measures, and we were later appointed by Tenke Fungurume Mining, on behalf of a consortium of mining groups, to proceed with the detailed topographical.

This included detailed materials and geotechnical investigation along the route and the detailed design for the upgrade, in addition to a topographical survey, geotechnical and materials investigations and the preliminary road alignment designs.
